Not quite, mom.

Annie was reading a story to Emma and pointed out to her the blimp prominently displayed on the page. Emma, having been learned in the school of Kiki's Delivery Service, corrected her: "That's not a blimp. That's a dirigible."

A girl after Grandpa's own heart.

Annie posed this question to Emma today: "Emma, do you know where you are going after your nap today?" (Expected answer: to her friend Jacob's house.)
Emma's reply: "To Costco?"
Later Annie asked Emma if she knew why we went to Costco (because of the free samples, naturally). Emma, however, gave the answer we had earlier taught her to the question why we go to McDonald's: "Because it's cheap and greasy."

Floatation Devices

Emma likes to be safe. She has her water wings, a tube, and of course, the noodle to keep her afloat. And she still stays in the shallow part of the pool. We like that kind of kid! Posted by Picasa

Swimming

Here we are at the pool of some of our church friends. The girls had a blast! Annie is getting wimpy and thought the water was a little chilly even though it was 88 degrees or so. The temp outside was probably 96. Posted by Picasa
